Check

Layer connects to Check to import payroll runs from the embedded payroll your platform offers. Once a Layer business is linked to its Check company, wages, employer taxes, and the resulting liabilities post to the customer’s books without manual journal entries.

Payroll support may need to be enabled for your platform. Reach out to your Layer contact for access.

Linking a Business

Use the following steps to establish the connection between a Layer business and a Check company.

Call the Layer Endpoint

This step establishes the mapping between a Layer business and a Check company.Endpoint: PUT /v1/businesses/{businessId}/payroll/check/configsSee the Layer documentation for full details on this endpoint.

Once the mapping is established, the Layer system knows to anticipate an OAuth flow.

Call the Check Endpoint

Check IDs

The integrationPartnerId and integrationPermissionId values used in Step 2 differ between sandbox and production.

Sandbox
Production

Use these fixed values for sandbox testing:
