# Stripe Capital

> Sync Stripe Capital financing activity into your customers' books.

Layer connects to [Stripe Capital](https://stripe.com/capital) to import the financing your platform offers through Stripe. When a customer accepts an offer, the proceeds, repayments, and fees post to their books, and the outstanding balance is carried as a liability on their balance sheet.

## Setup

Grant Layer access to your Stripe Capital data and map each Layer business to its Stripe entities. Your Layer contact will help you establish the connection.

Layer records financing proceeds when capital is deployed and tracks repayments as they occur, including repayments collected as a percentage of sales. When the customer's [bank data](/guides/importing-bank-data) is connected, the cash movement reconciles against their account activity, keeping loan balances and expenses accurate in their [reports](/guides/reporting).

This integration is enabled per platform. Reach out to your Layer contact to turn it on.

<Note>
  Using Stripe for payments or embedded bank accounts too? See the [Stripe payments](/integrations/payments/stripe) and [Stripe Treasury](/integrations/banking/stripe) integrations.
</Note>

## Importing directly instead

To push financing activity to Layer yourself, use the [Loans API](/api-reference/loan/loan) to record loans, proceeds, and payments. The [loan data guide](/guides/importing-loan-data) covers Layer's loan model, including [merchant cash advances](/guides/loans/merchant-cash-advances) and other financing structures.
