# Unit

> Sync activity from Unit-powered bank accounts and cards into your customers' books.

Layer connects to [Unit](https://www.unit.co/) to import activity from the bank accounts and cards your platform issues. Deposits, card transactions, and transfers all reach the customer's books automatically.

## Setup

Grant Layer read access to your Unit data, then link each customer's Unit accounts to their Layer business with the `unit_accounts` field, an array of Unit account IDs, when [creating a business](/api-reference/v1/create-business).

Layer ingests transactions and balances from the linked accounts as new activity comes in. The accounts then behave like any other account in Layer, flowing through [transaction categorization](/guides/transaction-categorization) and [reporting](/guides/reporting).

This integration is enabled per platform. Reach out to your Layer contact to turn it on.
