# Finicity

> Import bank account activity aggregated through Finicity into your customers' books.

Platforms that aggregate bank data with [Finicity](https://www.finicity.com/) can grant Layer access to that connectivity. Layer ingests transactions and balances from your customers' Finicity-connected accounts and incorporates them into their books, with no second account-linking step for the customer.

## Setup

Grant Layer access to your Finicity data and map each customer's connected accounts to their Layer business. Your Layer contact will help you establish the connection.

Layer ingests transactions and balances as new activity comes in. Imported accounts behave like any other account in Layer, flowing through [transaction categorization](/guides/transaction-categorization) and [reporting](/guides/reporting).

This integration is enabled per platform. Reach out to your Layer contact to turn it on.

<Note>
  Don't have an existing aggregator relationship? Layer's [Plaid integration](/integrations/banking/plaid) includes a fully managed connection, with prebuilt account linking UI.
</Note>

## Importing directly instead

To push aggregated account activity to Layer yourself, create a [Custom Account](/api-reference/v1/create-custom-account) for each account and pass its activity to the [Import Transactions](/api-reference/v1/import-transactions) endpoint. The [bank data guide](/guides/importing-bank-data) covers this in full.
